Our Story

- The founder and the maker -

Soulotte is a Hong Kong-based Jewellery brand founded by Mary Wong in 2020. Mary completed her Bachelor’s degree in Psychology at the City University of Hong Kong in 2012. She was a designer-maker specialising in upcycling paper jewellery in Hong Kong and Australia since 2011. Her upcycling works have been featured and interviewed by various media channels including Marie Claire, ELLE, Cosmopolitan. She collaborated with Hong Kong Jewellery & Jade Manufacturers Association, K11 and Hong Kong Youth Development Centre to promote upcycling art in Hong Kong.

In 2017, Mary was awarded the Textile Alliance Scholarship Award to study the Master of Arts at Middlesex University in London and graduated with distinction. Mary started practising metalsmithing during her master's degree, which inspired her to establish a contemporary metal jewellery brand not long after her graduation, this was the beautiful beginning of Soulotte. In 2021, Mary was selected by Chow Tai Fook Jewellery Group to be part of their Design Residency Programme. Trained by the industry experts from Chow Tai Fook, Mary has gained goldsmith skills and capabilities to take her craftsmanship to a professional level.

- Our Concept -

Drawing inspiration from the beauty of nature, our handmade jewellery is designed with organic and irregular forms, incorporating the natural gemstone created by Mother Nature. Each creation of Soulotte has its spiritual meaning and story. We would love to deliver positivity and beautiful energy to the wearer through her wearer art. Emphasising the beauty of simplicity, we create pieces to be worn throughout each day, not only on special occasions.

Every piece of our jewellery we solder, carve, shape and engrave ourselves by hand. The design process is a very intimate relationship with every piece we make, we know every curve and line put into our pieces with intention.
